Box Score Keefe Nets Career-Bests of Five Goals and Six Points

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College scored the game's first six goals in the opening 11:34 of the contest and never trailed on its way to a 14-5 win over visiting Rowan in a non-conference women's lacrosse game on Wednesday afternoon at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium. The Shorewomen improve to 1-1 on the year, while the Profs drop to 0-2.

How It Happened
- Washington wasted little time taking the lead for good 35 seconds into the game on a goal by Anna Bennett.
- After Morgan Sutherland made it 2-0 with 23:46 to go in the first half, Colleen Keefe scored consecutive goals to make it 4-0 with 21:03 remaining in the first half on a free position score.
- Sutherland capped the 6-0 run with her second goal of the game with 18:26 remaining in the opening half.
- Dara Hennessy got the Profs on the board with 13:02 remaining with Erin Renshaw getting the assist to cut the lead to 6-1 as Rowan scored three of the final four goals of the first 30 minutes. Elise Cohen scored both for the Profs to trim the Shorewomen's lead to 7-3 at halftime.
- In the second half with WC leading 8-4, Olivia Miller picked off a Rowan clearing attempt with just over 19 minutes to go and Sutherland finished off the possession with a goal to put Washington ahead 9-4. The score began a game-closing 6-1 run for the hosts.
- Ashley Devlin capped the scoring with her first career goal on a feed from Sydney Allender to put the Shorewomen ahead 14-5 win 2:32 left in the game.
