Box Score Bennett Wins Seven Draws and Scores Three Times for Washington
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting #4 Gettysburg outscored host Washington College 9-1 in the final 24:35 of the game to turn a 7-7 tie into a 16-8 win on Saturday afternoon at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams. The Bullets are 1-0 on the season, while the Shorewomen are 1-2.

How It Happened
- After Gettysburg netted the first two goals of the game, Washington answered with four unanswered to take a 4-2 lead 15:39 to go in the first half on a score by Ashley Devlin from Anna Bennett. The Shorewomen scored the final three goals in a 70-second span with Bennett scoring two and assisting on the third.
- Trailing 5-3 following a Sydney Allender goal with 6:39 left in the opening half, the Bullets scored the final three times to take a 6-5 lead into the halftime break. Kerry McKeever put the Bullets ahead for the rest of the half with 4:26 to go in the first half off of a pass from Bri Stokes to cap a three-goal run in 68 ticks with the final two coming in a span of 16 seconds as Stokes tied it at 5-5.
- In the second half, WC scored two of the first three goals to knot the game at 7-7 with 24:35 to go in the game on a free position tally by Bennett.
- Gettysburg would counter with the next four goals to take an 11-7 advantage with 16:03 to go on a Stokes goal from Maddy Ruffini. Caroline Sullivan for the visitors ahead for good on a free position with 21:57 remaining that was an up score.
- After Colleen Keefe scored from Allender with 14:57 left to cut the lead to 11-8, the Bullets scored the final goals to provide the final margin with Jordan Basso netting two of the five scores.
For The Shorewomen (1-2, 0-1 CC)
- Scoring: Bennett (three goals and four points to tie her career-high in both), Allender (career-bests of two assists and three points; one goal), Keefe (two goals), Ashley Devlin (goal and helper)
- In Goal: Sydney Wingate (60:00, eight saves, 16 goals)
- Bennett (seven draw controls and four ground balls), Catherine Keirn (game-high three caused turnovers)
- The Shorewomen won 15 of the game's 26 draw controls and had 10 caused turnovers.
- WC went 12-for-13 in clears, went 3-for-5 in free position shots and picked up 12 ground balls.

- Scoring: Stokes (three goals and four assists for game-high seven points), Basso (game-best four scores), Sullivan (three goals and four points), Katie Fullowan (two goals), Gabi Connor (goal and assist)
- In Goal: Shannon Twill (60:00, 10 saves, eight goals and four ground balls)
- Alex Jarvis (contest-best eight draws)
- The Bullets, who held a 28-20 advantage in shots, went 16-for-19 in clears and had four fewer turnovers than WC, 17-13.
- Gettysburg went 2-for-4 in free position chances, totaled 13 ground balls and recorded six caused turnovers.
