Box Score Nguyen Clinches the Win for WC at No. 4 Singles
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College won five of the six matches that were played to come away with a 5-4 win over visiting Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon at the Schottland Tennis Center in Centennial Conference women's tennis action.

Doubles
- Ella Samer and Bin Nguyen were victorious in the first doubles match to finish as they topped the Franklin & Marshall tandem of Hayley Bidwell and Caroline Ulrich at No. 2 doubles, 8-4.
- No. 1 doubles finished next and Irene Meng and Piper Sartison of WC came away with an 8-6 victory over the Diplomats' team of Cassidy Landau and Sammi Perry.
- The Diplomats duo of Ella Mure and Alex D'Angelo were awarded victory at No. 3 doubles as Washington was unable to field a team.
Singles
- Meng won the first singles to conclude as she topped Landau, 6-1, 6-2.
- Perry picked up the win for F&M at No. 2 singles as she edged Sartison, 1-6, 6-3, 6-0.
- Samer tied the match with a 6-4, 6-2, win over Bidwell at No. 3 singles.
- The match came down to WC's Nguyen and F&M's D'Angelo at No. 4 singles as it was the last match to finish. Nguyen clinched the win for Washington as she won 6-1, 7-6 (7-3).
- Washington was unable to field a player at No. 5 and No. 6 singles with Ulrich and Kayley Burke were credited respectively with the victory for the Diplomats.
Notes
- The Shorewomen are 5-2 on the season, while the Diplomats are 2-3. WC is 4-1 in the conference, while Franklin & Marshall is 2-3 in the Centennial.
