Box Score Haverford, Pa. – The Washington College men's soccer team cruised to a 4-0 victory against the Widener Pride on the opening day of the Jimmy Mills Tournament hosted by Haverford. Senior midfielder James Strine scored a pair of goals and added an assist for the Shoremen, who improved to 4-1-0.
How It Happened
- Strine scored the only goal that the Shoremen would need just 1:16 into the match as he drilled a twenty-five yard laser from the top-left of the box.
- Junior midfielder Cole Gifford followed up in the 13th minute as he pounced on a rebound from point-blank range for his second marker of the season. Senior forward Greg Adams was credited with the assist on the play.
- Adams made it 3-0 just over seven minutes into the second stanza as he collected a feed from Strine, who had entered the box from the right side. It was the second tally of the season for Adams.
- Strine put the game away as he curled in a free kick in the 59th minute.
