#15 Profs Top Shoremen in Overtime, 3-2

Adams Scores Both WC Goals

HAVERFORD, Pa. – #15 Rowan's Wilby Alfred headed in the long pass from Leo Montesinos with 2:04 remaining in the overtime period to give the Profs a 3-2 win over Washington College on Sunday afternoon at Walton Field in the second and final day of the Jimmy Mills Tournament in non-conference men's soccer action on the campus of Haverford.  The Profs improve to 5-0-0 on the season as they win the tournament, while the Shoremen drop to 4-2-0.

How It Happened
- In the overtime session, following an offside by the Shoremen, Montesinos' long pass from midfield found the head of Alfred who headed into the upper right corner from about 10 yards out for the walk-off score.  Rowan held a 4-1 edge in shots in the extra period.
- The Profs tallied the game's opening goal 11:49 into the contest when Chad Yates finished off a cross and put it into the far side on the right.  Anthony Arena and Alfred each netted an assist on the score.
- Washington, which had eight shots in the first half, took its final shot with 24 seconds remaining by James Strine, but it was stopped by Rowan goalkeeper James Weinberg
- Greg Adams would tie the contest at 1-1 6:11 into the second half as he received a pass from Alex Coster and put it in from the six in the lower left corner.
- Adams would put WC ahead 2-1 in the 65th minute as he beat Weinberg to the ball and put it in from the six.
- The lead would not last long as Rowan tied the game just under four minutes later when Alfred scored from the right side of the 18 near the end line with Arena getting his second helper of the day.
- Harrison Malone had the best chance to win it in regulation for either side, but his shot in the 73rd minute was saved by a Prof defender as the two teams went to overtime knotted at 2-2.

For The Shoremen (4-2-0)
- Scoring: Adams (two goals), Coster (assist)
- Goalkeeper: Austin Heid (career-best 6 saves, 3 goals allowed, 97:56)
- Washington had 18 shots and took five corner kicks in the game.

For #15 Rowan (5-0-0)
- Scoring: Alfred (two goals and assist), Yates (goal), Arena (two assists), Montesinos (assist)
- Goalkeeper: Weinberg (7 saves, 2 goal allowed, 97:56)
- The Profs took 12 shots in the contest and had four corners.
- Rowan had a team save for eight total saves in the match.

Notes
- It was the first meeting between the Shoremen and Profs in men's soccer.
