Box Score 2 Center Valley, Pa. – The Washington College women's volleyball team dropped their final two matches in the DeSales University Invitational on Saturday. The Shorewomen (0-3) were defeated in three sets against host DeSales (2-2) in the morning and then fell in a hard-fought, four-set decision versus Rutgers-Camden (2-1).
First Match: DeSales d. Washington College, 25-12, 25-15, 25-18
For the Shorewomen:
- Sophomore outside hitter Angelina Schaber paced the squad with six points on six kills.
- Junior outside hitter Courtney Maxwell contributed four kills and seven digs.
- Sophomore defensive specialist Kellan Ruf came up with a team-high nine digs.
For the Bulldogs:
- Junior middle Caroline Garretson recorded a match-high 13 kills on 22 attempts (.591 hitting percentage)
- Sophomore middle Shannon McDevitt contributed 10 kills.
- Senior Setter Audrey Wolfe handed out 31 assists and registered three aces.
Second Match: Rutgers-Camden d. Washington College, 25-23, 25-13, 22-25, 29-27
For the Shorewomen:
- Senior Jenna Daunoras recorded a team-high 15.5 points in the match. The middle hitter registered 11 kills and four blocks (3 solo, 1 assist).
- Junior outside hitter Courtney Maxwell had nine kills and tied for the team-lead with three aces.
- Sophomore outside hitter Angelina Schaber recorded seven kills and closed out the third set with a kill off an assist by senior setter Lauren Zedlar (team-high 21 assists)
- Freshman outside hitter Lindsay Saddic registered seven kills and classmate Colette Franck added six put-aways.
- Sophomore defensive specialist Kellan Ruf contributed a team-high 14 digs and added three aces.
- Sophomore middle hitter Riley McHugh came up with four block assists.
For the Scarlet Raptors
- Sophomore outside hitter Kaliyah Moss recorded a match-high 22.5 points with 19 kills and 17 digs.
- Sophomore outside hitter Isabella Choice added 8 kills and four block assists.
- Sophomore outside hitter Erica Nebrich contributed seven kills and three aces.
Notes
- The Shorewomen had four set points in the final frame versus Rutgers-Camden but were unable to force a fifth set.
