Chestertown, Md. – Senior midfielder Jackson Sopa (Rising Sun, Md./Rising Sun) scored his first career goal from senior forward Eric Gwadz (Washington D.C./Woodrow Wilson) in the 63rd minute for the lone goal of the game as Washington Colleged edged 22nd-ranked Gettysburg, 1-0, on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium on Saturday evening in Centennial Conference men's soccer action. The Shoremen advance to 4-4-5 overall and 3-1-2 in the Centennial Conference while the Bullets fall to 7-3-3 overall and 2-2-2 in conference play.

How It Happened
- Shoreman midfielder Harrison Malone had an early chance to score in the 7th minute but was saved by Gettysburg goalie
Kevin Muhic.
- Gettysburg had a slew of early chances to score with shots by
Aidan Muller and
Jack Carroll in the 8th minute, but neither shot found their way into the goal as the first shot hit the crossbar and the second went high.
- Washington ended the half with a flurry of shots in the 45th minute with shots by
Grant Sopa,
Ben Strine, and a pair of shots by
Ben Horgan.
- To start the second half, Malone and Strine sent a pair of shots towards the goal with both shots going high and wide.
- In the 52nd minute, Gettysburg midfielder Muller sent a shot wide left while forward
Connor Fife sent a shot over the goal in the 54th minute.

Jackson Sopa received a pass from Gwadz and his shot went through the hands of the goalie and off the head of a defender and into the goal with 27:39 remaining to put the hosts ahead 1-0.
- After
Jackson Sopa's goal, the Shoremen attempted to score quickly thereafter in the 66th minute however Malone's shot bounded off the left goalpost.
- The final attempt for the Bullets came in the 79th minute with a shot from
Connor O'Donnell which was saved by Shoremen goalie
