Fords Top Shorewomen, 3-0

McKechnie Tallies Double-Double of 12 Digs and 10 Helpers

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting Haverford topped host Washington College 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-20) on Wednesday evening in Centennial Conference volleyball action at Penny J. Fall Gymnasium.  The Fords improves to 11-9 overall and 4-3 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen drop to 10-11 and 2-5 respectively.    

Haverford 3 Washington College 0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-20)

How It Happened
- Courtney Maxwell gave the Shorewomen a 22-19 lead in the first on a kill before Haverford rallied with a set-closing 6-0 run.  A ball handling error by WC gave the Fords a 23-22 lead and an attack error by the hosts ended the first set.
- Leading 11-10 in the second set, Haverford won five of the next seven points to take a 16-12 lead on a hitting miscue by the Shorewomen.  Washington got it within three points on three occasions, the last being 24-21 on a service error by Haverford, but the Fords clinched the set on a hitting error by WC.    
- Tied 17-17 in the third set, Haverford won eight of the final 11 points to win the set and match.  Taylor Jones concluded the contest with a kill.

For The Shorewomen (10-11, 2-5 CC)
- Angelina Schaber and Sylvia Johnson (10 kills), Brooklynn Pugner (15 assists to lead all players), Alison McKechnie (12 digs and 10 assists), Maxwell and Victoria Kile (two aces), Chelsea Elliott (three bocks) 
- Team hit .138 in the match and registered five blocks and aces.

For Haverford (11-9, 4-3 CC)
- Claire Jordan (match-high 11 kills), Cameryn DeBlecourt (13 assists), Kayla Chu (11 assists and two aces), Téa Kuzbari (two aces), Juliet Young (match-best 14 digs), Annibelle Ernst (five blocks for tops in match)
- The Fords hit .322 in the contest, had eight blocks and four aces.

Notes
- McKechnie had her seventh double-double of the season.
