Mules Win in Three Sets over Shorewomen

Maxwell Tallies 12 Kills to Lead All Players

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Host Muhlenberg downed visiting Washington College, 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-10) on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference volleyball action at Memorial Hall.  The Mules improve to 13-10 overall and 5-3 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen drop to 10-12 and 2-6 respectively.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen jumped out to a 14-9 in the first set on an assisted block by Lindsay Saddic and Logan Kenny before Muhlenberg won 14 of the next 20 points to take a 23-20 lead on a Christina Marcin kill.  Washington would win the next two points to cut the lead to 23-22 on an attack error by the Mules.  However, Muhlenberg would win the next two points to take the set with a hitting error by the guests ending the set.
- Even at 17-17 in the second set, the Mules took the lead for good with three straight points to lead 20-17 on a hitting miscue by the Shorewomen.  Emma Eglinton ended the second set with a kill as Muhlenberg scored eight of the last 11 points.    
- Muhlenberg scored the first six points of the third set and never trailed.  An attack error by Washington ended the set and match.

For The Shorewomen (10-12, 2-6 CC)
- Courtney Maxwell (12 kills to lead all players), Kenny (two aces and two blocks), Brooklynn Pugner (15 assists), Jordan Fairchild (16 digs), Victoria Kile (13 digs) 
- Team hit .070 in the match, recorded three rejections and registered four aces.

For Muhlenberg (13-10, 5-3 CC)
- Esmae Oehler (11 kills), Eglinton (31 assists and three aces to lead all players in both categories), Catherine Maguire (three blocks), Alyssa Faville (contest-best 24 digs)
- The Mules hit .165 in the contest, had five blocks and 10 aces.
