Lions Slip Past Shoremen, 1-0

WC Outshoots TCNJ 15-6

EWING, N.J. – Host TCNJ got the only goal of the game from Colin Kenville in the 63rd minute to register a 1-0 win over visiting Washington College on Wednesday afternoon at Lions Field in a non-conference men's soccer game.  The Lions improve to 6-5-1 overall, while the Shoremen fall to 3-4-3.

How It Happened
- After giving up the first two shots of the game to the Lions, the Shoremen took the final six of the first half.  The only shot on target came with 22 seconds left as Washington's Dominic Miller had a header off of a direct kick, but it was stopped by TCNJ goalie Julian Franco. 
- Kenville put the Lions ahead at the 62:38 mark when his chip shot from the left side of the box hit the inside of the upper right post and dropped into the goal for the score.  It would TCNJ's last shot of the game.
- Washington would take the final eight shots of the game, but could not get the equalizer.  With 5:30 to go, Christopher Pinto had a shot from about 12 yards out hit the crossbar.
- Alex Coster took the last shot in the game with 56 seconds left, but his shot was stopped by Franco.

For The Shoremen (3-4-3)
- Scoring: None
- Goalkeeper: Cole White (0 saves, 1 goal allowed, 90:00)
- Washington had 15 shots and took six corner kicks in the contest.

For TCNJ (6-5-1)
- Scoring: Kenville (goal)
- Goalkeeper: Franco (5 saves, 0 goals allowed, 90:00)
- The Lions took six shots in the contest and had seven corners.

Notes
- It was the first all-time meeting in men's soccer between the Shoremen and Lions.
- Washington had not allowed a goal in 252:02 prior to the TCNJ score and had tallied back-to-back shutouts.
