Shorewomen Ground Owls in Three Sets

Kenny and Pugner Serve Up Match-Best Five Aces

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Washington College volleyball team swept host Bryn Mawr, 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-17) on Wednesday night at Class of 1958 Gym.  The Shorewomen are now 10-7 overall and 2-1 in the Centennial on the season, while the Owls are 6-9 overall and 0-4 in the CC.

How It Happened
- Washington overcame a 9-3 deficit in the first set to win by seven, outscoring Bryn Mawr 22-9 in the last 31 points.  Logan Kenny and Angelina Schaber gave the Shorewomen their first lead on an assisted block at 15-14.  Kenny finished the first set with consecutive aces.
- The Owls jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the second set following an ace by Micah Sheppard.  However, the Shorewomen would answer with a 23-10 run to end the set.  Brooklynn Pugner tallied an ace to give WC an 8-7 lead as part of an 8-0 run that gave the visitors a 10-7 lead on a Colette Franck kill.  Washington ended the set on an assisted block by Kenny and Lindsay Saddic.    
- In the third set, Washington led 8-7 before going on a 6-1 run to take control of the set, 14-8, following a Sylvia Johnson kill.  Courtney Maxwell ended the match with a kill.

For The Shorewomen (10-7, 2-1 CC)
- Angelina Schaber (10 kills), Allison McKechnie (14 assists), Kenny (five aces to set career-high and three blocks), Pugner (five aces) Jordan Fairchild (10 digs) 
- Team hit .180 in the contest, notched four rejections and served up 17 aces.

For Bryn Mawr (6-9, 0-4 CC)
- Zoe Boxill (six kills), Orli McGuire-Burk (nine digs), Anna Drvak (eight assists), Elise Perry (match-best six blocks)
- The Owls hit .-041 in the contest, had six blocks and six aces.

Notes
- Washington has now won seven straight over Bryn Mawr dating back to 2015.
