PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The Washington College women's basketball team traveled to Division I Maryland Eastern Shore to play an exhibition against the Hawks on Saturday afternoon at Hytche Arena and fell 76-50. The game did count in the standings for the Hawks and they improve to 1-2 on the season.
Washington did score the first basket of the game on a jumper by
Lizzie Hudock to give the Shorewomen a 2-0 lead 1:49 into the game. However, the Hawks would take the lead for the rest of the game on a Zamara Hayes jumper 26 seconds later at 3-2. Maryland Eastern Shore would lead 23-8 after one quarter and would lead 39-22 at halftime.Â
Andrea Prestianne would tie for game-high with 17 points, four steals and three assists.Â
The Shorewomen (1-0) are back in action on Tuesday night as they host Marymount with tip slated for 7:00 p.m. It is team's home opener.
