HAVERFORD, Pa. – Host Haverford scored the game's first 14 points and held off a fourth quarter charge from visiting Washington College to net a 56-51 win on Tuesday night at Gooding Arena in Centennial Conference women's basketball action. The Fords are now 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen are now 3-1 and 1-1 respectively.

How It Happened
- The Fords scored the game's opening 14 points to lead 14-0 with 3:28 to go in the opening quarter on a
Kayla Robinson jumper.
- After
Joy Sanders got WC on the board on a three 21 seconds later, Haverford scored the final seven points of the first quarter to lead 21-5 after one.Â
- Down 27-12 with 3:09 remaining in the second quarter, Washington scored nine of the final 11 points to cut the lead to 29-21 at halftime with
Kiersten Rose making a free throw with 44 seconds left to trim the deficit to eight. Haverford led by as many as 21, 24-3, early in the second quarter, but were outscored 18-8 by the Shorewomen.
- In the third quarter, Haverford the first six points to grab a 35-21 lead with 6:48 remaining on two
Ally Landau free throws and used a 17-9 third to take a 46-32 lead after three.
- Trailing 52-38 with 7:58 remaining, the Shorewomen scored 13 of the next 14 points to cut the Haverford lead to 53-51 with 41 seconds remaining on a Sanders triple.Â
- The Fords though would can three free throws in the final 34 seconds to end the WC comeback attempt and come away with the win. Washington outscored Haverford 19-10 in the final 10 minutes.

- The Shorewomen turned it over 15 times, while holding a 56-42 edge on the boards.
- WC outscored Haverford in points in the paint, 22-16, points off turnovers, 14-13, bench points, 24-2, second chance points, 23-19, and transition points, 8-7.
