BALTIMORE, Md. – Visiting Washington College set a program record for most points in a season opener in a 96-74 win over host Notre Dame (Md.) on Tuesday night on Gator Court in non-conference women's basketball action. Seven different Shorewomen scored in double figures, led by sophomore guard
Karry Kelliher (Severna Park, Md./St. Mary's) who had her first career double-double with a team-high 17 points and game-best 10 rebounds, both personal bests. The Shorewomen outscored the Gators 49-29 in the second half as it was the first game of the season for both squads.

How It Happened
- The Gators jumped out to an 8-2 lead 1:37 into the game on a
Kori People layup.
- Washington would answer with an 8-2 run of its own to tie the game at 10-10 with 4:58 left in the first quarter on Kelliher basket.
- The Shorewomen took their first lead of the game with 2:37 to go in the first on a
Serena Pluta layup at 20-19.

Jasimine Gardner would give Notre Dame the lead after one as she canned a jumper with 33 ticks left, 26-25.
- Washington would score the first 11 points of the second quarter to take a 36-26 lead on a Kelliher three-pointer with 7:03 to go and it would be the biggest lead for the guests in the first half.
- Notre Dame would outscore Washington 19-11 the rest of the second to cut the lead to 47-45 at halftime.
Alexis Durham hit a jumper with four seconds left to cap the second quarter scoring.
- In the third quarter, the Shorewomen led 59-58 with 3:13 remaining before closing the quarter on a 14-3 run to lead 73-61 after three.
Amari Faust gave the Shorewomen a 73-60 lead with 22 seconds left on a layup.
- The Shorewomen would outscore the Gators 23-13 in the fourth quarter and led by as many as 25, 92-67, with 3:08 remaining on an
Andrea Prestianne free throw.

- The 96 points in regulation is one off the program record of 97 points which has happened on two occasions, the most recent being on January 8, 2009, in a 97-24 win over Valley Forge Christian College. The team record for points in a game is 101, set in a triple overtime win over Western Maryland, 101-98, on February 17, 2001.
- The Shorewomen set the team record for most points in a true road game as the team's 97-14 win over Trinity (D.C.) on December 11, 1993, was on a neutral court at Gallaudet.
