Box Score White Prevails in Both Singles and Doubles
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Washington College women's tennis team stumbled against Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon at Schottland Tennis Center. The Shoremen fell to 6-3 on the campaign, while the visitors jumped to 3-5 on the year while securing their second Centennial Conference victory. The Diplomats are 2-1 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen fall to 0-1.
The hosts claimed the top two singles points and the middle doubles point in the match.
Reigning Centennial Player of the Week, senior Alisha White, joined forces with junior Bin Nguyen to claim the lone doubles win of the day for Washington.
The Shorewomen grabbed wins in both No. 1 and No. 2 singles, courtesy of White and junior Irene Meng. Meng took the top point in two, grabbing two 6-4 set wins in the victory. White won 7-6 (7-5) and 6-0 to take her match and the No. 2 singles point.
