Box Score Team Wins 300th All-Time Game; Will Host Swarthmore on Wednesday in CC Tournament First Round
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Sophomore attacker Ashley Devlin (Margate City, N.J./Ocean City) scored the walk-off goal on a free position as time expired to give host Washington College a 13-12 win over visiting Dickinson on Saturday afternoon at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse action the regular season finale. The Shorewomen improve to 7-9 overall and finish 5-4 in the Centennial, while the Red Devils cap their season at 3-11 overall and 2-7 respectively. Washington, who clinched its 10th straight trip to the Centennial Conference Tournament this week, will be the four seed in the upcoming conference tournament and will host Swarthmore on Wednesday at a time to be determined on Monday.

How It Happened
- Dickinson took an 11-10 lead heading into the fourth quarter as Gabby Guadalupe beat the clock on a feed from Liv Yeagle to end the third quarter.
- The Shorewomen would tie the game at 11-11 with 5:23 to go on a free position up goal by Ellie Morrall before Yeagle answered 59 seconds later on a pass from Riley Kuehn to give the Red Devils their final lead of the day, 12-11.
- Molly Sharpe would tie the game, 12-12, with 2:25 remaining on a feed from Devlin.
- Washington won the ensuing draw control, but Yeagle forced a turnover to give Dickinson the ball back 14 seconds after Sharpe's tally. Delaney Herbert would take a shot with 1:20 left, but it was saved by Sydney Wingate.
- The Shorewomen would turn it over on the ensuing clear and the Red Devils had a chance for the last shot. But with 18 seconds left, Dickinson would throw the ball away and Bridget Tiffey picked up the ground ball and WC called a timeout with 13 ticks left.
- Out of the timeout, Sydney Allender would throw a long clearing pass that found Devlin and Devlin thought she had scored the winner with two seconds left, but she was fouled before her shot and the goal was negated though she was awarded a free position. Devlin would score on the free position as time expired to give the hosts the walk-off score.
- In the first quarter, Devlin would score her second goal of the first to give Washington a 3-2 lead with 52 ticks left to cap the scoring in the opening 15 minutes.
- After Morgan Sutherland scored the opening goal of the second 1:39 in, Dickinson would net the next two to tie the game at 4-4 with 8:40 left on a Herbert tally.
- Colleen Keefe would score back-to-back free position goals to put the Shorewomen ahead 6-4 with 5:10 remaining.
- The Red Devils would answer with the final three goals of the second to take a 7-6 lead into halftime with Herbert scoring her second in 26 seconds with 1:49 to go to give the guests a one-goal lead into the break.
- Faith Parker would cap Dickinson's 5-0 run as she gave the visitors a 9-6 advantage with 10:46 remaining in the third.
- Washington would answer with three unanswered of its own to tie at 9-9 with 5:47 to go on an Allender goal with Devlin chalking up the helper.
- Alex Goles would score on a free position with 2:18 to go to give Dickinson a 10-9 lead before Keefe answered with 35 seconds remaining from Devlin to knot it at 10-10. The score would remain tied until Guadalupe's shot that crossed the goal line before the clock hit zero to end the third.
For The Shorewomen (7-9, 5-4 CC)
- Scoring: Devlin (three goals and game-high three assists for six points), Keefe (three goals and one assist), Morrall (three goals), Allender (two goals and two caused turnovers)
- In Goal: Wingate (60:00, nine saves, 12 goals allowed)
- Tobin Chambers (career-best five ground balls), Abby Laubach (six draw controls)
- The Shorewomen held a 32-25 edge in shots, had seven caused turnovers and won 16 of the game's 27 draws.
- WC went 15-for-19 in clears, went 5-for-7 in free position shots and picked up 18 ground balls.
For Dickinson (3-11, 2-7 CC)
- Scoring: Yeagle (five goals and six points), Herbert (three goals and assist), Goles, Guadalupe and Kuehn (goal and assist)
- In Goal: Drew Yeager (60:00, 14 saves, 13 goals allowed, three ground balls)
- Herbert (four draw controls), Guadalupe (three ground balls and two caused turnovers), Mia Seergae (three ground balls)
- The Red Devils went 17-for-23 in clears and had three more turnovers than WC, 23-20.
- Dickinson went 2-for-4 in free position chances, totaled 21 ground balls and recorded eight caused turnovers.
Notes
- Devlin was named the Goose Nation TV Shorewomen Player of the Game on the broadcast.
- Shorewomen Lacrosse netted its 300th all-time victory this afternoon with the win as the program became a varsity sport in 1982.
- With its 10th straight trip to the Centennial Conference Tournament (2011-19, 22), the program became the first program at the College to reach 10 straight conference tournaments where a team has to qualify. Shoremen Lacrosse qualified for nine straight from 2001-09.
- Washington will be competing in its 13th all-time Centennial Tournament as the program made it three straight times from 2001-03. The 13 appearances are third most in the conference for women's lacrosse, trailing just Gettysburg and Franklin & Marshall, who have qualified for all 20.
- The team honored Allender, Keefe, Sharpe, Olivia Miller, Chloe Sass and team manager Hayley Formichelli.
