Box Score Washington Scored Six in the First to Never Trail
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first quarter and never trailed on its way to an 11-6 win over visiting Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium. The Shorewomen improve to 4-7 overall and 2-2 in the Centennial, while the Owls drop to 7-5 and 0-4 respectively. WC has now 25 straight meetings with Bryn Mawr dating back to 1996.

How It Happened
- Sydney Allender put the Shorewomen ahead for the rest of the game 2:24 into the first quarter on an unassisted goal that ignited a 6-0 first for the hosts.
- Allender would score her second goal of the first to make it 3-0 with 9:43 left on a feed from Morgan Sutherland and Molly Sharpe would cap the outburst with 20 ticks left with Sutherland netting the helper.
- Meghan O'Shea got the Owls on the board 89 seconds into the second quarter to cut the lead to 6-1.
- Isabel Shin capped a 3-1 second for Bryn Mawr with 2:10 to go from Maddie Sullivan as the guests trimmed the deficit to 7-3 at halftime.
- In the third, Bryn Mawr got within three goals on two occasions with Rebecca Long trimming it to 8-5 with 4:29 remaining from Nina Houri. However, Ellie Bossi answered with her first career goal with 2:07 to go from Abby Laubach to make it 9-5 head into the fourth.
- Washington outscored Bryn Mawr in the fourth, 2-1, to provide the final margin.
For The Shorewomen (4-7, 2-2 CC)
- Scoring: Laubach (three goals and four points), Sutherland (two assists and one goal), Allender and Colleen Keefe (two scores), Molly Sharpe (goal and helper)
- In Goal: Sydney Wingate (60:00, eight saves, six goals allowed)
- Allender (five ground balls and three draw controls), Maddie Morris (three draws)
- WC went 12-for-14 in clears, went 2-for-7 in free position shots and had 23 ground balls.
- The Shorewomen won 12 of the game's 21 draws, held a 37-20 advantage in shots and caused nine turnovers.
For Bryn Mawr (7-5, 0-4 CC)
- Scoring: O'Shea and Shin (two goals), Long (goal and assist), Sullivan (two assists)
- In Goal: Jessica Calloway (15:00, seven saves, six goals allowed), Elizabeth Tompkins (45:00, eight saves, five goals allowed)
- Mogan Nash (four draw controls)
- Bryn Mawr had 13 ground balls and went 1-for-3 in free position chances.
- The Owls went 7-for-14 in clears, caused nine turnovers and had five more turnovers than WC, 20-15.
