Box Score Morrall Nets Game-Best Five for Washington
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Host #6 Gettysburg used a 5-0 run spanning the third and fourth quarters to snap an 8-8 tie to take a 13-8 lead on its way to a 14-9 win over visiting Washington College on Saturday afternoon at Clark Field in the semifinal round of the Centennial Conference Women's Lacrosse Tournament. The top seeded Bullets are now 15-3 on the season, while the Shorewomen, the four seed in the tournament, close their season at 8-10.

How It Happened
- After Gettysburg took a 1-0 lead on a Jordan Basso score 2:00 into the game, Ellie Morrall scored twice for Washington in 49 seconds to take a 2-1 lead with 11:22 in the first quarter.
- Katie Fullowan would tie the game 2-2 with 10:02 to go in the first and 34 seconds later Maddi Seibel would put the Bullets ahead 3-2 on a pass from Jenna King.
- Fullowan capped the opening quarter scoring run with 11 seconds left in to give Gettysburg a 6-2 edge after one.
- After Emily Crane gave the Bullets a 7-2 lead with 9:42 left, the Shorewomen scored three times in 1:52 to cut the lead to 7-5 with 6:57 left as Tobin Chambers scored from Abby Laubach. Chambers' goal came 17 ticks after Morrall scored her third of the game. Colleen Keefe began the run with 8:49 remaining on a pass from Chambers.
- King would give the Bullets a three-goal lead heading into halftime as she scored unassisted with 3:50 left in the second.
- Morrall would score the Shorewomen's first two goals of the third to trim the lead to 8-7 with 9:51 left before Laubach tied it at 8-8 with 3:42 to go in the third.
- Fullowan would get Gettysburg the lead back with 2:08 remaining, 9-8, on a down score as the hosts would take that one-goal lead into the fourth.
- The Bullets scored the first four of the fourth to take a 13-8 advantage with 7:00 remaining in the quarter on a Caroline Sullivan tally from Essie Pasternak.
- Laubach got one back on a free position with 3:22 left to cut it to 13-9 before Basso closed out the scoring with 21 seconds to go from Sullivan.
For The Shorewomen (8-10)
- Scoring: Morrall (game-high five goals to tie career-best), Laubach (two goals and one assist; game-best six draw controls), Sharpe (two goals), Chambers (goal and helper)
- In Goal: Sydney Wingate (60:00, 10 saves, 14 goals allowed)
- Sydney Allender (five draws, two ground balls and two caused turnovers)
- The Shorewomen had 11 caused turnovers, while turning it over 20 times.
- WC went 14-for-17 in clears, went 3-for-4 in free position shots and picked up 12 ground balls.
- The visitors held a 14-13 edge in draw controls.
For #6 Gettysburg (15-3)
- Scoring: Fullowan and Basso (team-best four goals), King (two scores and one assist), Crane (two goals), Sullivan (goal and assist)
- In Goal: Shannon Twill (30:00, zero saves, four goals), Gill Cortese (30:00, three saves, five goals)
- Fullowan (four draws and four ground balls), Nora Janzer (contest-high three caused turnovers)
- The Bullets, who held a 30-20 advantage in shots, went 15-for-21 in clears and had 106turnovers.
- Gettysburg went 3-for-6 in free position chances, totaled 19 ground balls and recorded 10 caused turnovers.
Notes
- Shorewomen Lacrosse had five seniors this season and they were Allender, Colleen Keefe, Olivia Miller, Chloe Sass and Molly Sharpe.
- With her goal, Keefe finishes tied for 13th all-time in goals at WC at 116 with Kristy Grovom '19.
- Morrall finishes this season with 99 career draws. With her first draw next season, she will become the 13th Washington player to win 100 all-time draws. She matched her career-best in goals today as she had her second five-goal performance in the past four games as she scored five in the team's 15-6 win over Swarthmore on April 27.
