How It Happened
- The Diplomats had their best chance to take the lead in the 14th minute as Nic Petruso's shot beat
Anthony Pinto (Matawan, N.J., Christian Brothers Academy), but not defender
Ryan Sharpley (Medford, N.J., Shawnee) as he stopped the ball before it crossed the goal line on a sliding stop.
- Washington got its first shot in the 21st minute by
Harrison Malone (Media, Pa., Episcopal Academy) that was blocked.
- Malone had the last shot of the first half by either side, but his chance was stopped by Sam Farrell.
- F&M had a corner kick with 1:45 left in the first half, but could not generate a shot and the game went to halftime scoreless.
- Horwitz would break the scoreless tie at 50:12 as he finished off a pass from Koa Kaliebe as Horwitz finished off a crossing pass and into an empty net.
- The Shoremen would get four shots to try to tie the contest, but could not dent the scoreboard. Washington's last chance came with 13:51 to go in the second half on a Malone shot on target, but it was stopped by Farrell. It was the last shot of the night by either side
