CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Junior midfielder
Ellen Daly (Locust, N.J., Rumson-Fair Haven Regional) headed in the game-winner with just under seven minutes remaining as the Washington College Shorewomen defeated the Muhlenberg Mules, 2-1, in a Centennial Conference women's soccer contest on Saturday evening at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. It was the first game-winning tally of Daly's career.

How It Happened
-Sophomore midfielder
Kayla Streett (Bel Air, Md., Fallston) created the opening goal when she sent a 25-yard through pass to senior midfielder
Katie King (Ambler, Pa., Upper Dublin), who beat two defenders and ripped a 15-yard shot off the hands of Mules' goalkeeper Sara Pecorelli. The sophomore keeper came off her line and tried to making a diving save to her right but the ball trickled into the lower left corner of the net.
- Casie Burke tied the game with just under 36 minutes remaining as she surprised Washington College freshman keeper
Hailey Sharpe (Holmdel, N.J., Holmdel) with a high-arching 25-yard shot from the right side that sailed over her head and just inside the far post. Emily DeAngelo was credited with an assist after tapping the ball back to Burke from the 20-yard line.
- The hosts had a golden opportunity with 15:25 remaining when senior forward
Paige O'Connell (Fairfield, Conn., Fairfield-Ludlowe)was open in front of the net but her shot from point-blank range was sent right at Pecorelli who made the catch.
- Washington College produced the game-winner just after a throw in in front of their bench. Senior midfielder
Ellie Morrall (Contoocook, N.H., Hopkinton) booted a long service into the box from the far sideline straight to the head of Daly, who flicked a header over the head of Pecorelli from seven yards out.
