HAVERFORD, Pa. – Visiting Washington College scored the game's lone two goals in a 5:12 span of the first half to record its first Centennial Conference win of the season, 2-0, over host Haverford on Wednesday afternoon at Walton Field in a conference men's soccer contest. The Shoremen improve to 2-3-3 overall and 1-1-1 in the Centennial, while the Fords are now 2-6-2 and 0-3-0 respectively.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen were awarded a penalty kick at the 31:58 mark when
Harrison Malone (Media, Pa., Episcopal Academy) was fouled in the box by a Haverford defender.Â
Ben Strine (Hockessin, Del., Salesianum School) put the kick into the left side of the goal to make it 1-0.Â
- Washington pushed its lead to 2-0 with 7:50 to go in the opening half when
Ben Horgan (Wilmington, Del., St. Andrew's) stole a clearing attempt by the Fords and found Malone. Â Malone's shot from 15 yards out from the lower right corner for a two-goal advantage at 37:10 and that would be the halftime score.Â
- In the second half, Strine had the only shot on goal of the final 45 minutes with 3:53 left that was saved by Haverford goalie Dylan Ioffreda. The Fords final shot came in the 81st minute by Andrew Fritz as it went wide. None of Haverford's three shots in the second half were on target.
