CHESTERTOWN, M.d. – Johns Hopkins came into tonight's contest with the best scoring defense in the Centenial Conference. They will remain in that spot after holding Washington College's Centennial-leading scoring offense to just 17 points in the first three periods.That allowed the Blue Jays to build a 20-point lead over the Shorewomen heading into the fourth period. They would control the contest the rest of the way, winning 47-33 at Penny J. Fall Gymnasium. Washington falls to 11-7 on the season and 7-6 in conference play while Hopkins moves to 13-4 and 10-2 in conference play.

How It Happened
- A tight first period was capped off by a Kendall Dunham floater in the final seconds to push the Blue Jays lead to 12-7 at the first buzzer.
- Hopkins started the second period strong. A Macie Feldman triple with 2:48 left pushed the lead to 23-9, which was the largest of the contest at the time. Dunham split a pair of free-throws in the final seconds to give the Blue Jays a 25-10 halftime lead.
-Hopkins opened the second half on a 9-4 run to extend the lead to 20. A pace they would carry throughout the third, ending the period up 37-17.
-Washington opened the fourth with a 10-4 to cut into the Blue Jay lead with 4:30 remaining. A pair of perfect trips to the foul line by
Kaitlyn Boggs (Freshman/Lindwood, N.J.) kick-started the Shorewomen rally.
-Hopkins responded with an out-of-timeout triple to stop the Washington run. They would control the game from there, winning 47-33.
For The Shorewomen (11-7, 7-6 CC)

Kaitlyn Boggs paced the Shorewomen with eight points and finished a perfect 6-for-6 from the foul line. Boggs also added three boards and three steals to the stat-sheet.
- WC shot 20.5% from the floor (9-for-44), 0-for-3 from three and 79% (15-for-19) from the foul line in the game.
- WC held a 12-10 edge in the paint.
For Johns Hopkins (13-4, 10-2 CC)
- Natalie Mann led the Blue Jays with 13 points. Mann was perfect from three (3-for-3) and from the charity stripe (4-for-4). Greta Miller added seven points and eight rebounds for Hopkins.
-Hopkins shot 34.8% from the floor (16-for-46), 31.6% from three (6-for-19) and 50% from the foul line (9-for-18).
- Hopkins held a big edge in points from the bench (17-to-4) and points off of turnovers (17-to-7).
