BALTIMORE, Md. – Host #3 Johns Hopkins jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one quarter on its way to a 5-1 win over visiting Washington College in Centennial Conference field hockey action on Wednesday evening at Homewood Field. The Blue Jays improved to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen dropped to 7-5 and 3-2 respectively.

How It Happened
- The Blue Jays got onto the board 3:08 into the first quarter as
Zoey Bennett finished off a feed from
Ava Balacek for the game's opening goal.
- Johns Hopkins made it 2-0 with 5:18 to go in the first when
Siena Urbanski scored off a rebound of her own shot.

Gen Mehra capped off the first quarter scoring with 88 seconds remaining with Bennett getting the helper as the pass found its way through the defense and the hosts took a 3-0 lead after one. Â Â
- Balacek netted the lone goal of the second quarter with 6:36 to go, to give Johns Hopkins a 4-0 halftime lead, and in the third,
Sophia Albano scored off of a crossing pass by
Sophie Gomez 55 seconds into the stanza to make it 5-0.

Brynn Balliet got the Shorewomen on the board with 8:39 to go in the fourth quarter as she received a pass from
Kate Gromacki and her shot from the right side found the cage to break up the shutout.
