Field Hockey Falls at Muhlenberg

Shorewomen drop conference match on the road.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Shorewomen Field Hockey team traveled to Muhlenberg Saturday for a Centennial Conference matchup. The game was originally slated for a 1:00 p.m. start but was delayed until 6:00 p.m. due to traffic. Neither team broke through in the first period but it was the Mules who struck first early in the second period. Just under two minutes after the goal, Muhlenberg made it 2-0. Early into the fourth, the Mules would add another as they wrapped up a 3-0 win.

How it happened: 
 
- Muhlenberg opened up the scoring through an Abba Diglio goal just over three minutes into the second period. Moments later, Diglio tallied another goal to give the Mules a 2-0 lead. The two goals came from a six-shot period by Muhlenberg as they held a 7-2 advantage in the shooting department at half. 
 
-Neither team found goal in the third period but Muhlenberg would extend its three as Zabelle Aslanian found goal with just under ten minutes remaining in the game. 
 
For The Shorewomen (7-8) (3-5 in conference)
- Scorers: None.
- Goalkeeper: Charlotte Schurman (4 saves, 3 goals allowed, 60:00)
- Washington finished with six shots, three on target. The Shorewomen forced nine penalty corners. 

For Muhlenberg (7-8) (3-5 in conference)
- Scorers: Abba Diglio x2, Zabelle Aslanian. Two goals assisted by Eriin DiSandro. 
- Goalkeeper: Maddie Schwartz (2 saves, 0 goals allowed, 60:00)
- The Mules took 11 shots with seven on target. They forced seven penalty corners.
