CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting #21 Swarthmore scored a goal in each of the first two quarters and withstood a late goal from host Washington College to pick up a 2-1 win on Wednesday on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium.  The Garnet improve to 11-5 overall and 7-2 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen fall to 7-9 and 3-6 respectively.

How It Happened
- Swarthmore struck just 2:57 into the first quarter when Anna Stancofski put home a rebound off of an initial shot by Jackie Crowley off the left post to cap a penalty corner sequence.  The Garnet took a 1-0 lead into the second quarter.
- The Garnet made it 2-0 with 24.1 seconds left before halftime when Katherine Kohn redirected an Amelia Landry pass into the right side of the cage.
- Swarthmore had the only shot in the third quarter as Landry got a shot off with 1:42 to go and it was saved by Charlotte Schurman.
- The Shorewomen got onto the board with 53.5 ticks to go when Ashley Swan finished off a cross by Alexis Tackney to cut the lead to one.
- It would be the last shot of the game as WC could not get the chance for the equalizer.

- Scorer: Swan (goal), Tackney (assist)
- Goalkeeper: Schurman (4 saves, 2 goals allowed, 60:00)
- Washington had six shots and four penalty corners in the contest.
