CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College had four players score in double figures and never trailed on its way to a season-opening 83-53 win over visiting Notre Dame (Md.) on Saturday afternoon at Penny J. Fall Gym. The Shorewomen are now 1-0 on the season, while the Gators drop to 1-2.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen scored the game's seven points to grab a 7-0 lead on a jumper by
Karry Kelliher with 7:28 left in the first quarter.

Kaleigh White gave Washington its first double-digit lead of the contest with 4:42 remaining in the first quarter at 15-4 on a jumper and took a 21-8 advantage into the second quarter.

Serena Pluta gave WC its biggest lead of the first half at 22 points, 37-15, on a jumper with 3:33 to go in the second.
- The Shorewomen took a 45-26 lead into halftime.
- Washington outscored Notre Dame, 15-14, in the third to take a 60-40 cushion into the fourth.
- In the fourth quarter, the Shorewomen outscored the Gators 23-13 and led by as many as 30 and that would be the final margin.
