Men's Basketball Falls at Bryn Athyn

Shoremen fight back to take lead, fall short in second half.

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Washington College men's basketball traveled north to take on the Bryn Athyn College Lions in a non-conference matchup. The Shoremen started slow but dug out of an early to hole to bring the game to within five at the half. Washington then took a four-point lead with just over 11 minutes remaining but the hosts used a 10-0 run to re-take the lead and never surrendered their advantage.

How It Happened
- The Lions started out hot from the floor, jumping out to a 24-12 lead in the opening ten minutes. They continued their hot start to hold a 31-15 advantage with just 6:35 left in the half. Washington then rallied with a 17-6 run to bring the Lions' lead down to five at the break. 
-The Shoremen opened the second half on a 14-5 run to take a 46-42 lead. That's when the hosts started a 10-0 stretch to re-take the lead for good. The Shoremen kept the game within reach throughout the rest of the second half but could never bring the lead under five points as Athyn took the win. 

For The Shoremen (2-1)
- Kedrick Frink led the Shoremen with 23 points and 17 rebounds. Paul Rodolf reached double figures with 12 points. Jason Zielinski added 11 and Marcus Scott chipped in with 11 from the bench. 
- WC shot 41.1% from the floor (23-for-56), 32% from three-point range (8-for-25) and 83.3% (15-for-18) from the foul line in the game.

For Bryn Athyn (3-0) 
- Jalen Parker led the Lions in scoring with 22 points. Parker also had ten boards for a double-double. Will Little (16pts) and Montrell Horsey (14pts) also hit double figures for the hosts.    
- The Lions shot 50% from the floor (7-for-18), 38.9% from three-point land (7-for-18) and 68% from the foul stripe (17-for-25).

11/18 – vs. Shenandoah at 2:00 p.m. The Shoremen return home to play host to the Hornets.
