MAHWAH, N.J. – Host Ramapo got a double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds to go along with seven steals and four assists from
Jada Thompson, all game-highs, to edge visiting Washington College, 43-39, on Saturday afternoon at the Bradley Center in non-conference women's basketball action. The Roadrunners improved to 7-5 in the season, while the Shorewomen are now 6-4 on the season.

How It Happened
- Ramapo took a 5-0 lead with 5:58 left in the first quarter on a free throw by
Alison Ahern and led 9-6 after one quarter.
- Following a Thompson basket with 7:08 to go in the second quarter that gave the Roadrunners a 14-7 lead, the Shorewomen answered with an 8-0 run to take their first lead of the game, 15-14, with 1:42 to go in the quarter on a
Peyton Berger fast-break layup after she stole the ball. Ramapo would score four of the final six points to take an 18-17 lead at halftime.
- In the third quarter, each team scored eight points as the Roadrunners took a 26-25 lead into the fourth quarter.Â
- Tied at 35-35 following an
Abby Meredith basket with 2:18 to go, Thompson was fouled on a transition opportunity four seconds later and canned both free throws to put Ramapo ahead for good 37-35. The free throws began a run of six straight points, all from the foul line, for the home team to make 41-35 with 32 seconds left on two free throws by
Shannon Burns.Â
- Washington scored four of the final six points, but could not get it within one possession the rest of the game.
For The Shorewomen (6-4)

- WC shot 28% from the floor (15-for-54), 13% from three-point range (1-for-8) and 62% (8-for-13) from the foul line in the game.
- Washington held a 46-32 advantage in rebounds in the win.
- The Shorewomen turned it over 19 times, while recording nine steals
- WC outscored Ramapo in bench points (8-5) and points in the paint (22-6).
For Ramapo (7-5)

- The Roadrunners shot 25% from the floor (12-for-49), 22% from three-point land (2-for-9) and 71% from the foul stripe (17-for-24).
- Ramapo outscored Washington in points off turnovers (13-9), transition points (14-2) and second chance points (6-4) in the game.
- The Roadrunners lost the ball 16 times in the contest, but tallied 13 steals.
