Jays Rally Past Shoremen, 90-55

Marcus Scott Posts career-best 17 points in defeat.

BALTIMORE, Md. –  The Washington College men's basketball team went to Baltimore to take on the No.8 Johns Hopkins Blue Jays in a Centennial Conference matchup Wednesday night. After a 12-0 from the Jays to start the game, the Shoremen rallied to cut the led to seven, trailing 39-32 at the break. The Jays came out hot in the second half with a 33-7 run and wrapped up a 90-55 home win.

How It Happened
- Hopkins started fast, jumping out to a 12-0 lead. The Shoremen grew into the game, keeping pace for the next ten minutes of first half action.  
-With seven minutes remaining in the first, the Shoremen caught fire. A 16-4 run by Washington brought it to within seven at the half. The Shoremen shot 42% for the half, hitting five three pointers. Marcus Scott led Washington with nine points at the break, hitting three triples. 
- Hopkins started the second half on fire, hitting 11-of-15 from the floor and six threes. A 33-7 run in the opening 12 minutes of the half propelled the Jays to the victory. 

For The Shoremen (3-20, 2-15 CC)
- Marcus Scott Jr. (Fr./Chesapeake, Va.) and Kedrick Frink (Jr./Sunderland, Md.) both hit double figures for the Shoremen, scoring 19 and 12 respectively. Grant Kemp (Fr./Madisonville, La.) added 10 points and 9 rebounds. 
- Washington shot 30% from the floor (18-for-60), 20.8% from three (5-for-24) and 58% from the free-throw line (11-for-19). 

For Hopkins (21-3, 15-2 CC) 
- Carson James led the way for the Jays starters, scoring 15. Lincoln Yeutter came from the bench to score 17 and John Windley added 9 points and 8 rebounds. 
- The Jays shot 50% from the floor (33-for-66), 32.3% from three (10-for-31) and 46.7% from the foul line (14-for-30).
