ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Visiting Washington College used a 14-4 run from the first quarter through the end of the third to turn a 3-1 deficit into a 15-7 lead in registering a season-opening 16-12 win over host Eastern in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Olson Field. It was the season opener for both teams.

How It Happened
- Eastern jumped out to a 3-1 lead with 6:33 left in the first quarter on
Nicholas Fanelli's second goal of the quarter.
- The Shoremen scored the final three goals to take a 4-3 advantage after one. Trailing 3-2,
Kain Domenech tied the game at 3-3 with 53 seconds to go in the first and
Mac Hale gave WC its first lead of the game from
Ben Dickinson with seven ticks left.

Gavin Stark knotted the game at 4-4 73 seconds into the second quarter, the Shoremen scored the next three goals to take a 7-4 lead with Domenech scoring from
Cory Morgan with 7:46 to go in the second.

Connor Garrison would give Washington its biggest lead of the first half, four goals at 9-5, with 1:33 left in the second from
Jason Skidmore. Eastern's
Luc Trudel netted an unassisted score with 28 seconds left to cut the Shoremen lead to 9-6 and that would be the halftime score.
- Garrison would net the opening three goals of the third quarter and the Shoremen scored the first five to take a 14-6 cushion with 5:17 remaining on a
Ewan Temple score from Hale. Washington would outscore Eastern 6-1 in the third to lead 15-7 after three.
- Eastern would outscore Washington 5-1 in the fourth quarter to provide the final margin.

- The Eagles were 11-for-13 in clears, 0-for-4 in man-up situations and turned it over 18 times, while notching 12 caused turnovers.
- Eastern held a 51-34 edge in shots and 38-33 advantage in ground balls.
Notes
- It was the third all-time meeting between the two schools and the first to take place at Eastern. The first meeting in 2014 was a 13-6 Washington win in the NCAA Tournament First Round in Chestertown. The Eagles won 9-7 in 2017 at WC.
