Mules Rally to Top Shorewomen, 66-52

Shorewomen Qualify for Centennial Conference Tournament Despite Defeat

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Washington College women's basketball team headed up to Muhlenberg for the final regular season contest of the year. It was a perfect start for the Shorewomen, opening the game on an 18-0 run. However, the Mules flipped the script in the second quarter, cutting the lead to two at halftime. It was more of the same over the next fifteen minutes of action from the Mules as they built a double-digit lead in the fourth on their way to the 62-52 win.

How It Happened
- Washington dominated the opening quarter of the game. Shooting 10-for-15 from the floor, the Shorewomen held a lead as big as 24-4 in the opening frame.
-Down big, Muhlenberg pushed to get back into the game. Margaux Eripet got things going for the Mules, hitting a pair of threes. Late in the second, Muhlenberg cut the lead to as small as two before a Joy Sanders (Sr./Baltimore, Md.) step-back three to stop the run. After trailing by 20 in the first, the Mules had cut the lead to two by halftime. 
- The Mules started the third on a 9-2 run to take a five-point lead before Andrea Prestianne (Sr./Kennett Square, Pa.) knocked down a triple. From there, Muhlenberg continued to make shots and bult a double-digit lead with just over five minutes remaining. The Mules maintained the lead from there to wrap up the home win. 

For The Shorewomen (13-12, 9-11 CC)
Andrea Prestianne  led the way for Washington with 17 points. Joy Sanders added nine points seven rebounds and four assists.  
- Washington shot 38.2% from the floor (21-for-55), 26.3% from three (5-for-19) and finished 4-for-4 from the foul line.  

For Muhlenberg (13-12, 12-8 CC) 
- Margaux Eripet paced the Mules with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Ava Connolly hit double figures with 10 points. 
- The Mules shot 37.5% from the floor (21-for-56), 30.8% from three (8-for-26) and 73.3% from the foul line (11-for-15).
