Shoremen Finish Bison Classic with 17-1 win over SUNY Canton

Iseman and Kinsey homer in big win.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington College baseball team picked up a Sunday win to finish up the Bison Classic at 2-1. The Shoremen offense reached double-figures for the second time this weekend while clubbing 15 hits. Freshman pitcher Ashton Mehler picked up his first win for the Shoremen with 5.0 innings of shutout ball. The offense kept adding on runs through the eight as they Shoreman rolled to a 17-1 win.

How it Happened  
- Drew Kinsey got the bats going with a solo-homer to start the second inning. Later in the inning Noah Iseman walked with the bases loaded before Scooter SanFilippo cleared the bags with a three RBI triple to put the Shoremen up 5-0. 
-Logan Yi knocked in SanFilippo with a triple in the fourth to extend the lead to 7-0. In the sixth Iseman homered for the first time this season to make it 9-0. 
-The Shoreman plated five more in the seventh. Elias Philiposian knocked in the first with an RBI triple before the Shoreman kept adding on with the bases loaded. A pair of runs in the eight pushed the lead to 17-0. 

For the Shoremen
Batting
- Scooter SanFilippo finished 3-for-4 with a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored. 
- Noah Iseman, Drew Kinsey, Ty Everitt, Luke Herz and Elias Philiposian all had multi-hit games. Iseman, Kinsey, Yi, Noah Lackman and Elias Philiposian all drove in two runs. Kenyon Mickie and Aidan Sturtevant each knocked in one. 
- Herz scored three runs, Nick Miller, Iseman, and SanFilippo all scored twice. Erik Risnychok, RJ Fiore, Mickie, Lackman, Kinsey, Everitt, Philiposian and Andrew Wenger all crossed home plate in the game. 
 
 Pitching
- Ashton Mehler (1-0) picked up the win allowing no runs with seven strikeouts, two hits and four walks. Titus tyler threw a scoreless inning in relief. Jay Nesson worked the final two innings giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk. 

For Canton
Hitting
-Nathan Welch finished 2-for-5 with a run.  

Pitching
-Danny Vargas took the loss, surrendering seven runs on seven hits, three walks and a hit batter in 4.0 innings of work.

3/3 – 2:30 p.m. – The Shoremen head up to Widener for a non-conference matchup.
