Shorewomen Fall at Dickinson 61-35

CARLISE, Pa. – The Washington College women's basketball team traveled to Dickinson for a Saturday afternoon Centennial Conference matchup. After a tight first period, the hosts jumped out to a big halftime lead through Clair Marion's 18 first half points. Dickinson controlled the game from there for a 61 to 35 victory in the Kline Center. Washington falls to 12-9 on the season and 8-8 in conference play

How It Happened
- After a slow start to the contest, Dickinson jumped out to an early lead after a pair of Kate Montgomery jumpers. Down 12-3 late in the first, the Shorewomen closed the gap with a 5-0 run through Andrea Prestianne (Senior/Kennett Square, Pa.) to end the first period down 12-8. 
-Dickinson started fast in the second quarter, jumping out to a 23-10 lead. The Shorewomen responded with a 9-2 run to bring the Red Devils lead to six. A pair of scores by Dickinson pushed the lead to 28-19 at the break with the Red Devils shooting 50% from the floor in the opening 20 minutes. 
- Dickinson stared the third period strong, building up a 49-25 lead. Clair Marion paced the Red Devils with 18 points heading into the fourth. 
-Dickinson maintained their double-digit lead during the fourth to earn the home-win.

For The Shorewomen (12-9, 8-8 CC)
- Andrea Prestianne led the way for Washington with 15 points, hitting 7-of-8 from the foul-line. Kaitlyn Boggs (Freshman/Linwood, N.J.) added four points and three steals for the Shorewomen. 
- Washington shot 18% from the floor (9-for-50), 22% from three (2-for-9) and 60% from the free-throw line (15-for-25). 

For Dickinson (14-6, 11-4 CC) 
- Clair Marion paced Dickinson with a game-high 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting with a game-high three triples. Marion added three steals and four assists. 
- The Red Devils shot 49% from the floor (23-for-47), 30% from three (3-for-10) and 48% from the foul line (12-for-25).
