Senior women's tennis player
Irene Meng (Surrey, B.C., Canada/Pacific Academy) is this week's Shorewoman of the Week. Meng won both at top flight singles and doubles in the Shorewomen's 7-2 win at Salisbury on Friday for the team's first win of the season.
In doubles, Meng teamed up with
Piper Sartison and won at No. 1, 8-5, over
Olivia Hall and
Katherine Tamesis, top complete the sweep in doubles for Washington. In singles, Meng put the Shorewomen ahead 4-0 as she swept Tamesis, 6-2, 6-0, at the top spot in the first singles match to finish.
This is Meng's first career Shorewoman of the Week honor.
