CHESTERTOWN, Md.– The Washington College softball team returned from the Spring Break trip down in Florida to play host to Catholic in a double header in Chestertown. The Shorewomen offense was unable to get much going in game one until late as Catholic held on to a big lead for a 10-6 win. In game two, Washington took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth through a
Hannah Solge RBI. Catholic responded in the sixth, tying the game with a two-out hit by Oliva Stinchcom. Katie Scolese doubled in two in the seventh as Catholic came from behind to win 3-1. Â

How it happened:

Catholic jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first after a K Scolese two-run homer. The lead would get to as big a 7-0 in the fourth.Â

The Shorewomen plated three in the sixth to make things interesting. Catholic would respond with three more in the seventh to push the lead back up to seven.Â

-Game two would be a pitchers duel between Aubrynn Arcement and
Brynn Balliet. Neither team scored until a
Hannah Solge single in the fifth.

-Balliet went 6.0 strong innings, giving up a tying run in the sixth. Oliva Stinchcom came in relief for the Cardinals for 2.1 perfect innings.Â

Emmie Meeks took the loss, giving up a pair of runs in the seventh as the Cards completed the comeback win.
