CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Washington College men's lacrosse team opened up Centennial Conference play with a Saturday matchup against McDaniel on Kibler Field. After both teams traded a pair of goals in the opening five minutes, the Shoremen first-half onslaught began. Nine of the next ten goals were scored by Washington to build a big halftime lead on their way to a 14-4 win.   Â

How It Happened
- The Shoremen notched the first goal of the game when
Mac Hale set
Kain Domenech for a goal in the opening minute. McDaniel responded quickly with a goal by Dylan Vitale. That would be the start of a see-saw opening few minutes.
Gabe Velasquez put the Shoremen back on top 3-2 after taking the face-off all the way to the Terror goal. A spinning-finished by
Ben Dickinson gave Washington their first two-goal lead of the day halfway through the first before Domenech added a second to his tally, taking the score to 5-2. McDaniel notched the final goal of the first period to cut the deficit to two. Â

Ewan Temple notched his first goal of the day to start the second. Neither team scored over the next six minutes until Temple struck twice in 25 seconds to push the Shoremen lead to five and give himself a second period hat-trick. Velasquez then struck the third goal in 32 seconds with his second of the day. More goals followed as

Logan Trombley found the net as Washington went into halftime up 12-4.Â

Ben Dickinson scored the only goal of the fourth as the Shoremen took the win in the conference opener. Â
