CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Washington College men's lacrosse team played host to Haverford in a Centennial Conference matchup Wednesday night on Kibler Field. The Shoremen and Fords traded blows throughout the first half, ending the opening periods tied up a six. The two teams continued to trade goals until the Shoremen broke out with three in two minutes in the fourth period. That was enough cushion to get the home 14-11 home win.Â

How It Happened

Brady McFalls got the scoring started with a finish just inside of three minutes. Haverford quickly tied it up before
Ewan Temple got his first of the night to make it 2-1. The Fords tied it up and held a man-up advantage for the final thirty seconds of the first period.
TC White forced a turnover that found its way down the field for a
Tom Merritt goal just before the horn to make 3-2 Shoremen after the opening fifteen minutes. Â

-Haverford tied things back up at three to start the second period.
Brady McFalls notched his second goal shortly after to re-take the lead. Haverford continued to answer as the two teams were knotted up at five with five minutes remaining in the first half.
Ben Dickinson's second goal of the matchup put the Shoremen back in front at 6-5. Nate Rose then provided an unassisted goal in the final minute of the first half to tie things up at six at the break.Â

Luke Brennan notched the first goal of the third period to put the Shoremen back on top. Just like the first half, the Fords answered right back to tie things up. Haverford then took the lead for the first time since in the game with a finish by Matt Richards. The Shoremen took advantage of a Haverford penalty to tie things up through
Brady McFalls.
Ben Dickinson re-took the lead for the Shoremen with a goal at the 3:37 mark of the third period. McFalls then notched his fourth goal to put the Shoremen up two for the first time on the night. The Fords scored immediately from the face-off to make it a 10-9 game heading into the fourth.Â

-Haverford scored the first goal of the fourth to tie the contest at ten with 9:15 on the clock. After the Fords had a goal wiped away for a crease violation,
Ewan Temple struck to put the Shoremen back on top. Temple then fired another for his hat trick and to extend the lead to 12-10 with 6:33 remaining.
Brady McFalls put the Shoremen up three with the teams third goals in two minutes. Haverford would cut it down to two again before Temple provided another emphatic finish to put the game to bed. Â

Gabe Velasquez went 13-for-23 in face-offs and picked up a game-high nine ground balls.Â
- Washington finished a perfect 2-2 on the man-up advantage and held Haverford to 0-5 on the man-up.Â
