CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Washington College baseball played host to the Stevenson Mustangs Tuesday afternoon at Athey Park. Stevenson scored in the first three innings to take a 4-0 lead. The Shoremen cut it to 4-2 in the third but Stevenson continued to add on the rest of the game to take the win 15-3.Â

How it happened:
-Stevenson jumped out in front in the first two innings with the help from Shoremen errors. In the third, Amani Jones roped a double to plate one and then scored on a sac-fly to make it 4-0. The Shoremen got on the board in the third with hits from
Nick Miller,
RJ Fiore and
Elias Philiposian.
Logan Yi brought in one with a sac-fly to make it 4-2.Â
-Washington loaded the bases in the fourth to chase Stevenson starter Jake Pigeon for a lefty matchup with
Elias Philiposian. Pigeon won the battle as he struck out the Freshman looking. The Mustangs then extended the lead in the fifth with three runs aided by Shoremen errors.Â
-More errors led to Mustang runs in the sixth and seventh as the lead grew to 12-2 as they left with the win.Â

RJ Fiore went 2-for-3 with a walk, double, RBI and run scored.

Nick Miller added a hit and run.
Elias Philiposian also notched a hit and RBI.Â

Alex Martin took the loss for the Shoremen. The Sophomore started and gave up two runs (one earned), in 2.0 innings from one hit and a pair of walks.Â

-Trent Smoot finished 1-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored.
Pitching:Â
-Jason Labrador took the win with 1.1 innings in relief of Jake Pigeon. Pigeon started with 3.2 innings of two-run ball.Â
