CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting #2 Salisbury scored the game's opening three goal and never trailed on its way to retaining the Charles B. Clark Cup, 23-9, over host Washington College on Saturday afternoon in the annual "War on the Shore" on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in non-conference men's lacrosse action.  The Sea Gulls are now 12-1 on the season, while the Shoremen drop to 8-6.

How It Happened
- The Sea Gulls scored the first three goals to take a 3-0 lead with 11:14 left in the first quarter on a Riley Strub score from Jude Brown.
- Mac Hale would get the Shoremen on the board 38 seconds after the Strub goal to cut the lead to 3-1.  However, Salisbury scored the next three times to lead 6-1 after one quarter as Josh Sanchez scored from Strub with 1:28 left to finish the scoring in the first.
- In the second, the Shoremen scored two of the first three to trim the lead to 7-3 with 12:40 left on a Cory Morgan tally.
- Salisbury would answer with the last four of the second to take an 11-3 lead at halftime as Cross Ferrara scored the first two and Issac Thrasher netted the last two with the last score coming with 3:59 left on a pass from Ferrara.
- Salisbury outscored Washington 7-3 in the third and 5-3 in the fourth to provide the final margin.

For The Shoremen (8-6)
- Scoring: Hale and Connor Garrison (two goals), Ben Dickinson (two assists)
- In Goal: Cole Corrigan (36:47, 13 goals allowed, seven saves), Robert Eiganrauch (12:24, six goals allowed, one save), Will Charvala (7:01, four goals allowed, two saves), Hunter Shank (3:48, zero goals allowed, zero saves)
- Gabe Velasquez and Jack Winters (two caused turnovers).
- Washington was 21-for-24 in clears in the contest and was 1-for-1 on the man-up.
- The Shoremen had 17 turnovers, while causing 10 Salisbury turnovers.

For #2 Salisbury (12-1)
- Scoring: Ferrara (three goals and four assists for seven points), Joe Carozza (five goals and assist), Luke Nestor (three goals and three assists), Brown (three assists), Thrasher (three goals), Strub (goal and two assists), Ty Keaton (two scores), Brice Bromwell (two helpers)    
- In Goal: Nicholas Ransom (45:00, six goals allowed, six saves), Z.J. Shahin (3:32, zero goals allowed, zero saves), Jack Twomey (7:40, two goals allowed, zero saves), Matty Back (2:23, one goal allowed, one stop), Michael Clibinoff (1:25, zero goals allowed, one save)   
- Blake Malamphy (19-for-24 in face-offs and game-best 14 ground balls) as the guests won 30-of-36 face-offs in the game.
- The Sea Gulls were 18-for-18 in clears, 4-for-4 in man-up situations and turned it over 20 times, while notching eight caused turnovers.
- Salisbury held a 62-29 advantage in shots and 53-19 in ground balls.

- Hale was named the Goose Nation TV Shoreman Player of the Game.
