Shorewomen Secure CC Tournament Spot in Two One-Run Wins over Diplomats, 1-0 and 3-2

Team Back in Conference Tournament for the First Time Since 2018 and Ninth Overall

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College secured a spot in the 2023 Centennial Conference Tournament with two one-run wins over visiting Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday afternoon in a Centennial Conference softball doubleheader at Washington College Softball Field.  The Shorewomen nipped the Diplomats 1-0 in the opener and scored on a walk-off in the bottom of the seventh inning to capture the second game, 3-2.  The Shorewomen, back in the conference tournament for the first time since 2018, are now 18-14-1 overall and 10-1-1 in the conference, while the Diplomats fall to 5-18 and 1-8 respectively.

Washington College 1 Franklin & Marshall 0 (Game 1)

How It Happened

- In the top of the seventh, the Diplomats had runners on the corners with two away, but Balliet got Devon Witt to ground out to Dee Raffaelli at third to end the rally and game.
