BALTIMORE, Md.– Washington College baseball travelled to Baltimore to take on the fourth ranked Johns Hopkins Blue Jays. It was the second meeting of the week between the two programs and the Jays completed the season sweep of the Shoremen with a 9-0 home win.Â

How it happened:

Alex Martin got the start on the mound for the Shoremen and kept the Jays bats in check through three innings, allowing just a pair of runs. Â
-Hopkins scratched across a pair of runs in the fourth with two sacrifice flyouts to make it a 4-0 game. Â
-The Jays then plated three in the fifth with a two-RBI single by Dylan Whitney to take a commanding 7-0 lead. Â
For the Shoremen:

- The Shoremen got hits from
Drew Kinsey,
Noah Iseman,
Logan Yi and
Elias Philiposian. Iseman, Philiposian and
Chase Ruppel each recorded a walk. Â
Pitching:Â
-Martin took the loss with two earned runs in three innings from four hits and three walks.
Matt Corda gave up four earned in 3.2 innings of relief.Â

- Whitney led the Hopkins attacked going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Â
Pitching:
- Kieren Collins recorded the win with seven shutout innings. Collins struck out seven while surrendering three hits and a pair of walks. Â
