Sea Gulls Best Shorewomen, 3-0

Kile Serves Up Three Aces

SALISBURY, Md. – Host Salisbury used fast starts in all three sets to top visiting Washington College 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-19) on Tuesday night at the Maggs Physical Activities Center.  The Sea Gulls improve to 6-1 overall, while the Shorewomen drop to 1-7.

How It Happened
- In the first set, Salisbury scored the first five points and won nine of the first 10 points, taking a 9-1 lead on an assisted block by Gwen Eustace and Jackie Mitchell.  Emma Quandt secured the 12-point set win on a kill.
- The Sea Gulls raced out to a 7-1 lead in the second set on a Bella Rubino kill.  Logan Kenny would trim the Salisbury lead to 12-7 on a kill before the hosts scored the next four point to take a 16-7 advantage on a Brooke Young ace.  Kiley McTaggart clinched the second on a finisher.    
- With the third set tied at 2-2, Salisbury won the next four points to take the lead for the rest of the set at 6-2 on Mitchell kill.  The closest the Shorewomen came the rest of the way was on a Sylvia Johnson kill to cut the lead to 10-7 before the hosts won the next three points to go ahead 13-7 on a hitting error by Washington.  Eustace and Mitchell teamed up to clinch the set and match and an assisted block.

For The Shorewomen (1-7)
- Chelsea Elliott and Giselle Kleinbussink (six kills), Raegan Moran (11 assists), Victoria Kile (eight digs and three aces), Lindsay Saddic (two blocks)
- Washington hit .107 in the contest, totaled four rejections and served up four aces.

For Salisbury (6-1)
- Rubino (11 kills and hit .450), Young (18 assists and four aces), Julie Altieri (12 assists), Kayla Pedersen (nine digs), Eustace (four blocks), Mitchell (three rejections)
- The Sea Gulls hit .349 in the match, had six blocks and 10 aces.
