CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting Penn State Abington got a goal in the 62nd minute from
Hugh Nungessor to tie the game in a 1-1 draw with host Washington College on Saturday afternoon in second and final day of the Athey Cup on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in a non-conference men's soccer contest. Both teams are now 0-0-2 on the season.

How It Happened
- The Nittany Lions had two chances in a span of 49 seconds to take an early lead, but WC goalie
Cole White turned away chances by
Eljo Agolli and
Arsene Bado respectively.Â
- The Shoremen got onto the board in the at the 14:24 mark to score the game's first goal.Â
Chris Comber took the initial shot off of a corner kick as his header was saved by goalie
Matt Sheldon, but the rebound went to
Ben Strine who put it in from about eight yards out into the right side to make it 1-0. Comber recorded an assist on the score.
- Washington's
Tyler Davidson nearly made it 2-0 with 2:02 left in the first half, but his shot went just wide to the left.

Gavin Hagen had the first half's final chance for PSU Abington, but his shot was turned away by White.
- In the second half, Bado almost tied the game in the 58th minute, but
Grant Sopa stopped the ball to preserve the 1-0 lead.
- The Nittany Lions evened the contest at the 61:01 mark when Nungessor corralled a pass from
Mike Thomas off of a corner kick from near the left post. White got a piece of the shot, but was unable to prevent it from going in.

Katim Njie nearly restored the Shoremen lead in the 72nd minute, but his shot went just wide to the right. He also had the game's final shot with 3:50 left, but it was off target to the left.

- Moravian won the Athey Cup by virtue of going 1-0-1 as it topped Stevenson 2-0 earlier today. Stevens went 0-1-1 in the cup. Both games yesterday were 0-0 draws.
