Longridge Puts Home Penalty Kick with 44.1 Ticks Left

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College got a penalty kick goal from junior forward Reagan Longridge (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) with 44.1 seconds left in the game for the lone score of the contest as host Washington College nipped visiting Bryn Mawr on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in Centennial Conference women's soccer action on Wednesday night.  The Shorewomen are now 3-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in conference play, while the Owls are 2-3-1 and 0-2-0 respectively.

Washington College 1 Bryn Mawr 0

How It Happened
- In the 11th minute, Bryn Mawr had its best chance to score on two tries, but were turned away.  Off of a free kick, Sarah Lohrey's shot went off the head of Washington defender before ringing off the right post.  Lucia Engelhardt grabbed the rebound from the six on the right side, but Shorewomen goalie Hailey Sharpe made the save.
- The Shorewomen's best chance came at the 37:33 mark on an Ellen Daly shot from the left side at the top of the 18, but Owls' goalie Natalia Chorzepa stopped the shot as the two sides were scoreless at halftime.
- In the second half, the Shorewomen thought they had gotten onto the board in the 55th minute when Maddy Gaydon put in a pass from Audrey Flanagan from the top of the 18, but Gaydon was ruled to be offside, negating the score.
- Bryn Mawr's last shot of the game came with 13:55 left by Sophia Kearns that went wide left.
- With 44.1 seconds left, Longridge was fouled by a Bryn Mawr player in the box on a crossing pass and Washington was awarded a penalty kick.  Longridge placed the shot into the upper left corner of the goal for the game-winning goal.  Neither side got a shot off the rest of the game and WC held on for the win.
