Women's Soccer Uses Second Half Comeback to Beat DeSales 2-1

Two goals in a span of four minutes sparks win.

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Washington College women's soccer traveled to DeSales for a non-conference matchup on Saturday. The Shorewomen found themselves on the wrong side of a penalty decision in the first half as the hosts took a 1-0 lead into halftime. During the second half, Captain Kayla Streett provided the spark, scoring in the 67th minute. Just under four minutes later, the scorer turned provider as Streett assisted Kaileigh Brady to put Washington up 2-1.

How It Happened
- DeSales took an early lead when Tori Harnett converted from the spot. Despite trailing at the half, Washington out-shot the Bulldogs six to three at the break.

-The Shorewomen started the second half on the front foot as they looked to tie the match. Washington took seven shots in the opening twenty minutes of the second frame but failed to beat DeSales goalie Jozlyn Minnema.

-In the 67th minute, Kayla Streett fired the Shorewomen level. Washington wasted little time looking for the winning goal as a shot by Maddy Gaydon was blocked out for a corner.
