LANCASTER, Pa. – The Shorewomen Field Hockey team traveled to Franklin and Marshall to open up conference play for the season. The Shorewomen found themselves on the back foot early as F&M took the lead just 4:34 into the match on a Jessica Miller goal. Washington found a tying goal early in the second half through
Brynn Balliet but the Diplomats responded just a minute late with Miller's second. The halftime score would be the final as Washington fell 2-1.  Â

How it happened:Â
- The Shorewomen opened up on the back foot during the first fifteen minutes as F&M scored just four minutes into the match. In total, the hosts took 13 first period shots to Washington's two.Â

Brynn Balliet for the tying goal. It was Balliet's fourth of the season. The tie was short-lived however as the Dips pushed forward to set up Jessica Miller's second goal just a minute later.Â

-Holding a 2-1 lead at the break, F&M locked up the defensive zone and kept Washington from registering a shot in the second half as they opened up conference play with the home win. Â
