CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Washington College Shorewomen opened up the 2023 home season with an emphatic win over the DePauw university Tigers. Washington dominated the opening thirty minutes, out-shooting the Tigers 15-1 at the break.
MaryCate Anson (Sophomore/Newark, Del.) turned the pressure into a point with a finish late in the first quarter. Washington produced more of the same in the second half as the Shorewomen moved to 2-0 on the season.Â

How it happened:Â
- The Shorewomen stared the game fast and pounded the DePauw zone. In total, DePauw goalie Bella Lauber made four saves in the opening 15 minutes but was unable to keep out a shot by Anson late in the period.Â

-The next two periods provided more of the same as Washington continued to attack the Tigers' end. The Shorewomen continued to fire on goal but Lauber racked up five more saves to keep the game at 1-0.Â

-Washington managed the fourth period out as DePauw never registered another shot on goal.Â
