CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Washington College women's soccer played host to the Ursinus College Bears Saturday night in a Centennial Conference matchup. The Shorewomen spent most of the night in the Ursinus penalty area but were unable to beat Bears keeper Maddie Nau. Nau produced ten saves for Ursinus, the one time she was beaten, a Bears defender was there on the goal line to send it clear. Washington continued to push but were unable to find a winner as the match ended 0-0.Â

How It Happened
- Washington created the first chance of the night as Ursinus goalie. Maddie Nau was forced into two saves in fourteen seconds after shots by
Reagan Longridge and
Grace Kelley. Just before the half, Washington's
Ellen Daly was through on goal but also denied by Nau. Nau would make five saves in the first half to keep the score level at zero.Â

-The Shorewomen continued to put shots on goal at the start of the second half. Nau was equal to every opportunity though, racking up nine saves with 35 minutes still to play.Â

-Washington came close to breaking the tie through a corner with just 15 minutes remaining. The ball bounced around in the penalty area and eventually was sent on goal and cleared off the goal line by the Ursinus defense.

-With just under ten minutes remaining, Ursinus' Paige Flaugh fired one from distance that went just over Shorewomen keeper
Hailey Sharpe's crossbar. In the final minute, Ursinus was awarded a free kick on the edge of the penalty area but were unable to produce an effort on goal.Â
