Shorewomen Suffer Defeat at Salisbury

Washington takes early lead but fall after Seagulls rally.

SALISBURY, Md. – Washington College women's soccer suffered their first defeat of the season on Wednesday in a tight contest at Salisbury. There Shorewomen took the lead in the first half but were unable to hold lead to the break as the Seagulls equalized. Salisbury followed up with a pair of second half goal as they wrapped up a home victory.

How It Happened
- Audrey MacNair (Freshman/Lansdale, Pa.) put the Shorewomen in front at the 17-minute mark, finishing off a Reagan Longridge (Junior/Lititz, Pa.) assist. Just over 12 minutes later, the Seagulls tied things back up through a goal by Jordan Edwards.  
 
- Salisbury opened up the second half with a goal by Zakiyyah McMillan to go up 2-1 at the 55-minute mark. The Shorewomen pushed for the tying goal until Kristen Ging put the Seagulls up two with a finish in the 84th minute.  
 
For The Shorewomen (0-1-1)
- Scoring: Audrey MacNair (assisted by Reagan Longridge). 
- Goalkeeper: Olivia Allen (2 saves, 3 goals allowed, 90:00)
- Washington had 11 shots with three on target and forced three corners. Bridget Whiteside received a yellow card.  

For Salisbury (2-1-0)
- Scoring: Jordan Edwards, Zakiyyah McMillan and Kristen Ging. 
- Goalkeeper: Riley Pinato (1 save, 1 goal allowed, 90:00)
- The Seagulls finished with 12 shots (five on target). Rebecca Fairbanks received a yellow card.  

Notes: MacNair's goal was freshman's first goal for the Shorewomen.
