Collegeville, PA – The Washington College Volleyball Team fell to The Bears of Ursinus, three sets to one.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen got out to a 6-1 lead early in the first set off of five kills and one error by The Bears. The Shorewomen went up 10-5 on The Bears thanks to a kill by Lindsay Saddic from Allison McKechnie. The Bears followed up that point with a four point run as they were able to sneak within one point of the Shorewomen 10-9. McKechnie put an end to their run by putting down a kill. It was back and forth until The Bears took the lead 14-13 on their own kill. They would go on a nine point run until a kill from Saddic put the score to 24-15. The Bears answered with a kill and took the set 25-16.
- The Shorewomen took set two, they started off with a 3-2 lead. A kill from Colette Franck and two in a row by Saddic put the Shorewomen up 6-2. It was 12-8 in favor of the Shorewomen when two kills from Izzy Diehl were broken up by a McKechnie ace, and followed by a kill from Lyndsey Wessel to put the Shorewomen up 16-8. The Shorewomen took the set with an offensive ending. Saddic and Diehl recorded two more kills, Mary Miller earned two aces and Wessel tallied another kill as the Shorewomen came out victorious 25-15.
- The third set was a close one as Ursinus took the lead first 2-0. The Shorewomen answered with a three-point run going up on The Bears 3-2. A kill by Saddic put the Shorewomen up 6-3. The Bears would answer with a five-point run. Their run was thwarted by Collette Franck's kill from McKechnie. The Shorewomen would go on a four-point run of their own thanks to a kill by Saddic, a kill by McKechnie, a Bears' error, and an ace by Alexis Stubbs. The Shorewomen led 11-9. The set was back and forth until the end where The Bears took the lead 24-23 and put the game away on a kill, they took the set 25-23.
- The Shorewomen went up 4-2 in the fourth and final set of the afternoon. Franck recorded two kills, Diehl had one, and Miller served up an ace to start the set. Franck and McKechnie both recorded kills from Stubbs to put The Shorewomen up 7-3. The Shorewomen kept up the pressure, furthering their lead from The Bears to 10-5 which would be their biggest lead of the game. The Shorewomen would not go on another run until the score was 23-20 in favor of The Bears. A service error from Ursinus and a kill by Franck would bring the score to 23-21, still in favor of The Bears. These would be the last points for The Shorewomen as they fell to Ursinus 25-21.
